About This Project

Restoration and an addition was added to an addition built in 1927 and renovations to an 1880's addition were  completed

Challenges Very absorbent uncoated 1927 stucco and construction addition with new stucco to match in color and texture.
Solutions After cleaning apply one coat of KEIM Royalan Dilution to the old stucco and the recommended 2 coats of Royalan to complete. Use Royalan Grob as the first coat to blend texture of repairs and new to old stucco.

The First Church in Salem, Unitarian is one of the oldest continuing Protestant churches in North America and the first to be governed by congregational polity, a central feature of Unitarian Universalism.   The Rev. Jeff Barz-Snell is the thirty-first minister of the First Church in Salem and was ordained here in December of 1998. The new addition and renovations were dedicated in April 2012.
