About This Project

The brick masonry had an old existing paint in many areas and other areas were not coated but showed erosion and weathering of the historic brick face.  The initial specification by the Architect was for Granital.  However, after the stripping process, it was decided in favor of Soldalit.  The Architect researched historic colors and selected two shades which were custom matched in Soldalit.  Concrete Cleaner was locally used for new concrete.  Silan 100 was also included for this Project.

Challenges Careful examination of all areas showed differing problems. Despite the limitations of budget, it was important to address various moisture issues. Also, training an inexperienced contractor was another challenge.
Solutions Proper stripping and surface preparation, careful monitoring of the project application were important. The inclusion of Grob Base for Soldalit worked very well.
